    I've been getting "is not laying on the boundary between solid and fluid region." error, sometimes it comes, sometimes not. is it a problem with creating lids?

    • @MLCCADSystems
      @MLCCADSystems 11 годин тому

      It certainly could be a problem with lids, but it may also be related to unintended leaks or a problem with your study options. Use Check Geometry to visualize the internal closed volume. If the area you think is enclosed isn't actually enclosed, use Leak Tracking to find the hole and close it up.

    This is great, thank you. BUT, I am trying to have twisted pairs of wires to twist around each other. So the path to follow is another twist, not this candy cane 2D path. Is there a way to do this? I will keep trying and will respond here if I discover the answer.

    • @MLCCADSystems
      @MLCCADSystems 11 годин тому

      The candy cane shape was arbitrary for this video, you can use a helix or projected curve as the path and repeat the process of twisting around that helix as many times as needed. The hard part will be determining the pitch of twist and keeping track of how many curves need to be generated for all of the wires.

    • @MLCCADSystems
      @MLCCADSystems 7 днів тому

      Yes. Measuring and reporting the mass of the part is how they determine if you built the model correctly. If your mass does not match up with the provided answer key, you have missed something important and would not get the correct answer. Double check dimensions and the material definition until you get the correct answer.

      The Fuse system, especially when you add the Sift and Blast units, are ideal for large volumes of small parts! The build chamber can be removed for external cooling, the unfused powder can be reused, and the blast tumbler makes post processing so simple.

      Here is the SLS webinar if you didn't get a chance to catch it already. ua-cam.com/video/QiAD7u6gCAw/v-deo.html The Fuse system allows for cooling and powder recovery outside the machine, which means you can keep the printer running nearly non-stop without worrying about the cool down period. It also automates clean-up with the blast cabinet that rotates parts and de-ionizes them for a powder-free finish without requiring the operator to touch every part. Good luck in your search!

    I'm more a mill programmer but niw work on a DMG MORI lathe as cnc programmer which has a c/y axis and has a broaching live tool. Does anyone know which mastercam toolpath to use for keyway cutting on a lathe not a mill. The live tool moves back and forth in order to cut keyways while the spindle stays still. I've found not one video online of mastercam toolpath for lathe for keyway cutting with broaching live tool?

    • @MLCCADSystems
      @MLCCADSystems 16 днів тому

      A contour toolpath could be used, but we may also need to modify the post to have the correct orientation locked when doing a broach operation. The spindle as the default output would want to rotate and we would need an option to allow the toolpath to suppress this and move to a proper fixed position. Let us know if we can help you build or customize a post here: www.mlc-cad.com/services/cnc-post-processors/

      Great question, this video assumes someone at your company has already performed several actions ahead of time. 1) Install and configure SOLIDWORKS PDM on a server computer for your company. 2) Install PDM client and a local vault view on your local computer and provided you with login information (if needed) The screen in this video is simply Windows File explorer, but when you navigate into the local vault view folder (it looks like a blue circle icon) then you will see the additional information coming from the vault. The information you see in the video is a part of the PDM client installation and will only be visible when you are navigating inside a PDM vault view. @@MLCCADSystems Honestly when I made that comment, I was super stressed out for my upcoming exam and just wanted to show my appreciation in a very short time. Now I can take my time and express my gratitude towards your extremely helpful video. It helped me pass the exam yesterday. Thank you so much for all the videos you made for us. I wish you the best .

    Cimco simulation is a complete waste of time and energy. Cimco will never be more than an editor and transmission tool. Cimco hasvery poor documentation, and the tech support guys rarely know G-code. Simply reporting a bug turns into a week-long circus of trying to explain the issues.

      A lid can be any geometry. The lid creation tool is only for very simple lids, you can create any solid geometry you want.

    Do you have a video or source that might help me? Lets say you have a stock size that is 5'x5' in width and length, with the part being a small 2'x2' part inside. How would it be cut that with tabs? Like can you use perimeter cut with tabs?

    • @MLCCADSystems

      Tabs can be added along the perimeter of the part as shown in this video series. Im not sure if I fully understand the nature of your question, but if you are an MLC customer we would be happy to talk it over with you.

      It sounds like there might be a specific question or application you are looking for. If you are an MLC CAD Systems customer I recommended discussing this with your local team or reaching out to support to discuss your application. We can answer all of your questions. I will relay the request to the team too in case they are able to create a video on this.

    when i use the motor i get errors what could be the problem some thing like this At time 1.997595191E-1 the integrator is unable to start/restart. Possible Causes: (1) The accuracy required for the numerical solution can not be attained. Relax (increase) the value of the acceptable integration ERROR. (2) Incompatible redundant constraints, a lock up, or a bifurcation situation. The latter two indicate a mechanism design problem. (3) The system includes a zero (or relatively small) mass on a part with an unconstrained translational degree of freedom. Make sure you have mass on all parts with translational degrees of freedom. (4) The system includes a zero (or relatively small) inertia on a part with an unconstrained rotational degree of freedom. Make sure you have inertias on all parts with rotational degrees of freedom. (5) An Adams element has a function expression that equals exactly itself. For example, SFORCE/id1,I=id2,J=id3,ROT,FUNC=SFORCE(id1,jflag,comp,rm),and DIFF/id4,IMPLICIT,IC=0,FUNC=DIF1(id4). Similarly, VARIABLE/id5, FUNC=VARVAL(id5)*TIME equals itself at 1 second. Avoid setting an Adams element equal to itself.

      Generally speaking this type of error happens when your motor is trying to move something beyond a physical constraint such as a contact or a mate. Consider reducing your time step, relaxing your accuracy, and/or slowing down the motion to monitor the behavior and make sure it isn't moving past an obstruction. For questions like this, I recommend reaching out to your support provider for additional support on your specific motion study. If that is MLC CAD Systems you can get our contact information or submit a case online at www.mlc-cad.com/technical-support/

    what if it shows surfaces and solid bodies in the feature tree command then this method works? because sometimes we get surfaces and solid bodies simultaneously in the same file from the customer .... Thank you for this

    • @MLCCADSystems
      @MLCCADSystems Місяць тому

      The behavior should stay the same, but I don't recall testing this situation to confirm. The existence of surface bodies simply means that is how the model was built or exported.

    how to avoid duplicate files of assembly and parts created in Solidworks after pack and go.

    • @MLCCADSystems
      @MLCCADSystems Місяць тому

      Pack and Go is designed to duplicate files for several possible uses. If you are creating an archive to a zip file or separate drive, renaming files often isn't required as the files are physically separated from the originals. If you are creating an alternative design and want unique new file names, add a prefix, suffix, or search and replace values to avoid duplication of file names. If you don't want certain files duplicated you can de-select them or manually rename them as needed. Study the dialog to ensure you will get the expected results before running the utility.

    Oh wow! He neglected the most important part which is how to set up half the model.

    • @MLCCADSystems
      @MLCCADSystems Місяць тому

      It is as simple as it is shown in the video. Create the full model and set up the flow study as you normally would, then adjust the computational domain to use the Symmetry boundary condition and set the location of the symmetry plane. The new domain is represented with solid lines, and the "other side" is represented with dashed lines. The model visually looks like it is cut in half already, but that is because he has a section view active to visually represent the domain of the new study. The only other modifications required are to adjust boundary conditions if they aren't already defined in a per-unit-area way or are independent of the area such as the velocity or temperature. This tech tip video does require that you know how to use Flow Simulation generally but have not yet tried to utilize symmetry or periodicity in the domain.

      @@MLCCADSystems I really enjoy the short but clearly communicated and detailed videos that show the CFD process from start to finish. A massive turn off for my brain is clicking on a guide video when I know it's 15+ min or got heaps of random filler comments. You guys are doing great and I massively appreciate the guide vids. The only critique I would have is making the exact same model you use in your videos downloadable in the video description so watchers/clients can follow EXACTLY along. perhaps NDAs are stopping you sharing that tho, no worries either way
